Guidonian Hand

Audiovisual, Participatory Instrument (2024/2026)

Interaction, Sound Synthesis (PureData), found 3d object, Game engine (Unity3d), Computer Screen, VR-headset, Speakers

Guidorian Hand is an audiovisual instrument combining VR, sound synthesis, and game engine environments. Through gesture and movement, the participant navigates a virtual space where the body becomes simultaneously performer, controller, and interface, generating evolving sonic structures in real time. Emerging from reflections on exploitation, agency, and power within digital systems, the work explores how bodies beoome entangled within technological environments that both enable and control interaction. Rather than addressing these conditions directly, Guidonian Hand approaches them through abstraction transforming questions of control, participation, and mediation into a performative audiovisual experience.

The work was presented during the Festival Dome Dreaming (www.domedreaming.com) at Tekniska Museet Stockholm.

The works is originally part of the larger work Bodies Commodities Playtime! Edition (2024, presented at Inter Arts Center Malmƶ, Sweden), which containes a suit of audiovisual instruments, where Guidonian Hand is one of them.
