Sculptural interactive sound works
Pendulum Coils | Ekerspelet | Water driven Sound Sculptures | Heat Works

These are works that encourage the audience to explore an artwork and use them to create sounding art as they interact. As such there is a game element to it. In the context of 1, 2, 3, Playtime I think this is relevant to show even if they only partially live in the digital domain. Working with these types of artworks has given me a lot of food for thought when it comes to interactivity, sound, and art.
All of these are made with PureData for sound synthesis and sensor handling in combination with microcontrollers (Arduino) for getting input from the sculptures to the computer. I stick to the philosophy of using as primitive solutions as possible in the physical domain, and having the lion part of the technology in code. This is favourable for me not only since it gives me a the specific aesthetic and the type of expression that I desire but also since it makes the production cost of the works very low. This fits my philosophy well since it makes it accessible and inclusive.
